Bulk Gravel Delivery to Meadow Vista, CA

Planning a driveway rebuild, a patio base, or a drainage run? California Rock Supply handles gravel and aggregate delivery in Meadow Vista, CA, and Class 2 base is the material most local jobs start with. The foothills ground here is rocky and often shallow over bedrock, so what you put down and how you compact it decides how the job holds up.

Ground and Conditions in Meadow Vista

A thin base shows itself fast on these hillsides. You get rutting, pumping, and rock pushing up through the surface after a wet winter, because the layer under the drive never locked together.

Soils here run rocky and shallow over bedrock in places, with clay pockets in others and fast-draining Stone Screenings on the steeper ground. Heavy winter rain sheets off the slopes, clay holds it, and runoff from above needs somewhere to go.

The fix is a base built thick enough and compacted in lifts, plus a drainage path that moves water off the drive and away from the pad. Work runs best from late spring into fall; winter storms turn clay and steep drives to mud, and the higher ground can see snow delays in mid-winter.

Materials for Meadow Vista Projects

For paths and walkways, the fines and screenings do the work. Stone Screenings, also called DG, packs firm and fine, and it is the standard surface for garden paths, patios, and low-water ground cover laid over a compacted base. Walkway gravel gives you a finer, walkable surface for the same kind of run.

Under the path or drive, Class 2 base is the California base material, specified by Caltrans as Class 2 aggregate base and known around here as Class II base, Class 2 aggregate base, or base rock. Recycled base rock and crushed miscellaneous base, also called CMB, do the same job from Road Base or asphalt. Crusher Run is the alternative when you want a binding, compacting material.

Drainage is the other half of a foothills job. 3/4 inch drain rock, also called #57 stone, is clean stone with no fines, so water moves through it in French drains and drainage trenches. 3/8 inch crushed rock works for finer drainage, pipe bedding, and topping over a compacted base. Rip rap armors slopes, creek banks, and culvert outlets against winter runoff.

Topsoil and garden soil handle lawn and bed prep over clay or hardpan. Mason sand sets brick and block and fills paver joints, and washed sand levels and beds under slabs. For decorative work, river cobble and large river rock build dry creek beds that slow runoff, and Natural Pea Gravel covers play areas and walkways.

Delivery to Meadow Vista and the Surrounding Area

Order online and pick your quantity by the ton or by the yard. If you are not sure which one fits your job, run the numbers through the calculator before checkout and let it size the load for you.

Then choose a delivery date and a dump truck brings the material to your site. Placer County coverage includes Meadow Vista, Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, and Auburn.

Give the driver a clear spot to dump, keep the path to it open, and have your base or excavation ready before the truck rolls in. Bulk loads go down fastest on firm, level ground.

Questions Meadow Vista Buyers Ask

What should I have ready when the truck arrives?

Clear the dump area and make sure the driver can reach it without backing over soft ground. Mark any sprinkler heads, utilities, or delicate edges. Have your subgrade graded and ready if the load is going straight into a base or path build. A spotter helps on tight foothill driveways.

What is the best base under pavers in Meadow Vista?

Class 2 base, placed in lifts and compacted, is the standard under pavers here. It locks up hard and drains well, which matters where clay pockets hold winter water. On the shallower hillside ground, a thicker compacted base keeps the pavers from shifting as the soil moves.
